Free Inspiration

Christian resources abound on the Internet. You have to wave the winnowing fan, of course, to separate the grain from the chaff.

One of my favorites is John Piper’s ministry, Desiring God.  I wrote more about it on my Kept Woman blog. All of his books can be purchased on his website or from other retailers,  but he has also made them available as free downloads on his website. You can also download accompanying sermons and supplemental Bible reading schedules for many of the books.

Another source of audio downloads is OnePlace – an up-to-date catalog of radio broadcasts and sermons from hundreds of  Christian teachers. They even have an extensive collection of Spanish resources!

For general Bible study, searches and resources, I use Bible Gateway. I can search by keyword or passage, use a few different Bible commentaries and look at my passage of Scripture with many different versions of the Bible, until I find one I like. (Just kidding!!)  There are several English versions (all of the ones I have ever heard of) and many many other foreign languages.

Individual, focused ministries can be found for specific needs, also.  Even Christians can google!  Again, compare everything with Scripture to be sure that what you read is true:

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.  2 Corinthians 10:5
